First of all, may I point out that the acting in this movie is fabulous. With Meryl Streep as Julia and Amy Adams as Julie, the casting job was top of the line.
I love the idea of two women living in different time periods, sharing a love of food. It's a very fresh storyline, and the fact that it's covers two true stories in one movie without being too confusing deserves some props. I might also note that the food prepared in this film looked so delicious that I wanted to jump right into the movie and dig in.
Okay. I know it's a true story and all, but did they HAVE to include the detail about how Julia Child disliked Julie so much? I mean, talk about a downer. Here we are at the end of the movie, feeling elated at the fact that Julie completed her challenge to herself... and Julia Child steals that joy at the very last minute. The whole movie, Julia was displayed as a very good natured (a little eccentric, but still.) people loving person, and then reality hits. I could go on and on about this movie, but I won't, for your sake. Have a great day. If anyone is reading this at all. Is anybody out there?

Yours truly,
Lanie
